The Christian Reich - Jesus Camp

Disclaimer: As most of you know, I'm not a big fan of organzied religion. I was born and raised in the Catholic faith attending church on Sundays and CCD on Wednesdays and Saturdays until the age of 16. My flaw was the use of common sense and the ability to ask questions and make my own conclusions. This type of thinking isn't the greatest strength of a follower. At the age of 16 my parents gave me a religious choice and I have never returned to the Catholic Church or any form of religion. I do believe in a supreme power of some sort. I do not believe that any religion is right or wrong. This is how I chose to think.
Religion since the beginning of time has been used as a tool to control the masses. It has helped create a set of laws to keep order. It provides good family values and teaches many life lessons. It comforts you when you are down or having to cope with the loss of a loved one. It protects you by providing an "answer" to what happens in the afterlife. It has many places in people lives, but has no place in politics or world affairs. Hence the seperation of Church and State.
There is a growing trend in the United States involving Christianity. It is an extreme and powerful movement. Its happening right under everyones noses. As this trend grows it begins to brainwash more and more of our Youth. Yes, they are targetting the youth and are teaching kids to become "Dedicated Christian Soldiers in Gods Army an are schooled in how to take back America for Christ."
There is a new documentary called "Jesus Camp" that shows these exact things. It was made by Magnolia Pictures and A&E Indie Films. I would suggest you take a look at the website and at least view the movie trailer. In my opinion this will only lead to very bad things. History has shown us that religion in extreme measures is a bad thing. The Modern Day Crusades are about to begin.

They compare themselves to muslim extremists: Quoting from the movie "I wanna see young people who are as committed to the cause of Jesus Christ as the young people are to the cause of Islam. I wanna see them as radically laying down their lives for the Gospel as they are over in Pakistan, in Isreal and Palestine and all those different places you know, because excuse me, we have the Truth!"

Sound a bit extreme for rational thought? I think so.
By the way Churches are Tax Exempt because they are not supposed to support political ideals or encourage their members to vote in a certain way. Looks like their Exempt status should be revoked.
